Look for I-82 slowdowns near Selah
SELAH -- Beginning Monday, traffic will be restricted to one lane along Interstate 82 near Selah while crews install traffic recorders.
Restriction will occur in each direction from 6 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and continue until Thursday, according to the state Department of Transportation.
Motorists are being asked to slow down through the construction area where traffic will be shifted to the left lane.
Fire destroys Yakima garage
YAKIMA -- Fire officials are investigating a fire that destroyed a double-car garage Saturday.
Crews responded to the blaze in the 1500 block of McKinley Avenue about 5 p.m. and found the garage fully involved, firefighters said.
The garage was destroyed and minor damage was done to the house it was attached to as well as two neighboring houses, firefighters said.
Damage is estimated at $20,000, and the fire's cause has yet to be determined.
