Join recycling effort
Englewood Christian Church and the Montessori School of Yakima are teaming up to raise money and to help the environment.
The church and school are participating in the Think Recycle program that collects -- and pays money for -- old print cartridges and cell phones. Greentec, the company behind the program, processes and recycles the items, keeping them out of local landfills.
Plus, Greentec donates one tree for every 24 qualifying cell phones or cartridges. So far, more than 50,000 trees have been planted through the program.
Over 20,000 schools in North America participate in Think Recycle.
Old cell phones and cartridges can be dropped at the church, 511 N. 44th Ave., from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. For more information, call the church at 966-6550.
