WENATCHEE -- Last spring, Mission Ridge Ski & Snowboard Resort targeted Nov. 28 as its opening date for the 2008-2009 season.
That’s still the target but chances are about 60 percent that it will be later, Mark Milliette, Ridge general manager, said Wednesday.
If the Ridge doesn’t open Nov. 28 or 29, the target will slide to the following Friday or Saturday, Dec. 5 or 6, he said.
Natural snow is scant but storms are on the way and Wednesday was the tenth day of snow making since Nov. 2, Milliette said. Man-made snow is being piled on runs and will be spread to make a minimum foot-and-a-half covering before the opening, he said.
Warm temperatures interrupted snow making early this week but temperatures and humidity dropped enough to resume snow making Tuesday night, he said.
