Education
The Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences has hired Ben Hittle as its director of security. Hittle recently retired from the Yakima Police Department, where he served in various patrol and detective assignments and on the SWAT team as a hostage negotiator for more than 30 years.
Finance
Yakima Valley Credit Union has hired Alicia Stromme as its director of lending operations. In this new position, Stromme will oversee the consumer and mortgage loan divisions at the credit union. She has more than 13 years of experience in the financial services industry. She previously worked in various positions at Washington Mutual. She has a bachelor's degree in business with a minor in Spanish from Washington State University.

Snokist Growers has hired Robert Lemke as its director of operations. Lemke, who has more than 17 years of fruit industry experience, previously served five years as plant, logistics and warehouse manager for Signature Fruit Co. in Modesto, Calif.
Law
Washington Law & Politics magazine has named Yakima attorneys Dennis L. Fluegge and Robert C. Tenney to its 2008 SuperLawyers list. The lawyers from Meyer, Fluegge and Tenney were chosen by their peers and a selection panel. They have earned the honor five times each.
