YAKIMA -- The 21st annual Fall Classic at the Yakima Speedway has been postponed a week because of a weather forecast that predicts the possibility of rain Saturday and Sunday for Yakima.
"It's better to cancel it now to save some people some travel," Speedway owner Ted Pollock said. "We're getting millions of calls ... We may as well do it today."
The event was to begin tonight with qualifying and the Race of Champions and conclude Sunday with the Late Models featured event.
The event now run Oct. 10-12.
This is the third time in the past four years that rain has forced postponement of the event.
