YAKIMA -- Willy Hart and Taylor White didn't come into the Pro-West Rodeo Finals at the Central Washington State Fair as the top-ranked team ropers, but that's where they finished in Friday's first go-round.
Hart, from Yakima, and White, from Prosser, posted the top mark of the night with a time of 6.19 seconds, well ahead of Jack Fisher and Ryan Stewart, who were timed in 6.82.
Hart and White entered the rodeo ranked seventh among the competitors.
Jana Isaac, from Yakima, won the barrel racing in 15.92, edging top-ranked Katy Bremner from Ellensburg, who clocked 16.05.
Moxee's Danny Alires won the saddle bronc riding.
The second and final
go-round is today at 2 p.m.,
with champions determined after the competition.
